Pau Cubarsí Speaks to Deco After Rumors: 50 million and an Assured Sale in Just Months

Pau Cubarsí reveals Deco's plans and there will be important changes in defense

United is seriously considering a change in management due to the poor results under Erik ten Hag. Rumors about his possible dismissal have gained momentum. Among the names being rumored about replacing him are two high-profile coaches: Xavi Hernandez and Thomas Tuchel.

Xavi, the former FC Barcelona manager, is one of the options, as this newspaper has already reported. However, the Old Trafford board seems to be leaning more towards Tuchel due to his successful career in the Premier League. It should be reminded that he's already won the Champions League with Chelsea.

However, what has attracted the most attention is Tuchel's request to make his arrival in Manchester a reality. According to several media outlets, the German coach has demanded the signing of Ronald Araújo, the FC Barcelona center-back.

Tuchel had already shown interest in the Uruguayan player when he was in charge of Bayern Munich. Now, with the possibility of joining United, he's placed him as a priority to strengthen the English defense.

FC Barcelona is already aware of this situation. Sporting director Deco believes that, in the event of a significant offer, they could seriously consider selling Araújo.

The blaugrana club recognises Araújo's quality and leadership. However, they prefer the current defensive lineup. It includes promising players such as Pau Cubarsí, along with Íñigo Martínez's and Andreas Christensen's experience.

In this sense, the option of letting Araújo go would not be unreasonable for Barça, especially considering that his sale would free up wages.

Barça also has plans in case Araújo leaves. According to the same source, the Catalonian club is planning to sign Jonathan Tah on a free transfer. The German center-back from Bayer Leverkusen could arrive next summer for free.

This move would be a masterstroke for the Catalans. It would allow them to add a top-level center-back without having to make a huge investment. Hansi Flick, Barça's current coach, has ancestry with the German player, and sees Tah as an excellent option for the Blaugrana project.

Erik ten Hag's future is in jeopardy at Manchester United and Thomas Tuchel seems to be closer to being his successor, on condition that he sign Ronald Araújo. If this happens, Barça could take advantage of the situation to restructure their defense and sign Jonathan Tah.
