Official: The 3 Signings Deco's Negotiating for Next Summer

Deco's plans include the addition of three top-level players next summer.

Barça isn't giving up on strengthening its team for next summer. There won't be any transfers in January. Right now, they're only interested in registering Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.

However, the technical department, led by Deco, is scouring the market for tactical solutions for Hansi Flick.

Barça is waiting for developments. For the new Nike contract and its 150 million advance, the sale of VIP seats, and advertising on the shorts to allow access to the controversial 1:1.

The Controversial 1:1 That Barça Doesn't Meet

A situation that Barça fans don't understand. The club got rid of Leo Messi (150 million annual salary) because they couldn't keep him. Then Coutinho and Dembélé (40 million salary) left.

Griezmann (33 million), Piqué (22 million), Jordi Alba, and Busquets (18 million).

Barça dismantled itself with departures that weakened the team. However, no one understands that by eliminating the highest salaries, four years later Barça still has problems with its wage bill to register new players.

Zero Cost or Nothing

Awaiting new income and the return to Camp Nou, Deco has to navigate the market with players who are free agents and can arrive for free.

This way, Barça has already acquired Ilkay Gündogan, Íñigo Martínez, Andreas Christensen, or Franck Kessié.

Looking ahead to 2025, three players meet these criteria and have received Hansi Flick's approval.

They are Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen; Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich; and Joshua Kimmich, also from Bayern. All three have contracts ending on June 30, 2025, and will be free agents.

Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen)

He's the captain of Bayer Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso, the current Bundesliga champion. His agent is Pini Zahavi, the same one who represents Lewandowski and Hansi Flick.

The agent is a close friend of Joan Laporta. They were even business partners in the past. If the president asks him for a favor, he'll do it.

Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich)

He's probably the best left-back in the world and a hot commodity in the market. Real Madrid negotiated with him months ago, but the presence of his admired Hansi Flick at Barça could change the situation.

He's only 24 years old. Bayern is trying to retain him with a staggering last-minute offer. However, he's got his eyes set on Spain.

We'll have to see if Flick's presence at Barça can make him change his mind and forget about Real Madrid.

Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)

Joshua Kimmich is an excellent 29-year-old defensive midfielder for Bayern. Pep Guardiola discovered him, and Flick launched him to stardom, both at Bayern and with the German national team.

His contract also ends on June 30, and Barça has considered him, but not to play as a pivot. They already have Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal there.

Barça's plans for Kimmich are on the wing. Flick needs two new full-backs, and Kimmich could strengthen the defensive line with his tactical and physical reliability.
