Hansi Flick has received good news in the last few hours. The FC Barcelona coach already knows he can get back a top-level player, and he'll do so for the match against Getafe. We're talking about the Danish center-back Andreas Christensen, who's only participated in one official match this season: 26 minutes against Valencia at Mestalla.
The recovery has progressed smoothly and it seems he might be available for the next match against Getafe. The plan is clear: to include him in the team list and, if everything goes well in the match, to give him some minutes. Christensen is expected to be a key player for Hansi Flick in the course of the season, thus strengthening the defensive area.
After the match against Getafe, Barça will have one La Liga match (Valencia) and two Champions League matches (Benfica and Atalanta) left to finish January.
Andreas Christensen and Two Offers to Leave Barça
Hansi Flick's confidence currently lies in three center-backs: Pau Cubarsí, Íñigo Martínez, and Ronald Araújo. The latter, whose contract ends in 2026, intends to renew, and an agreement is expected to be reached in the coming days. This leaves Andreas Christensen in a difficult position, as he knows that another defender will arrive in summer: Jonathan Tah.
Everything is agreed with Jonathan Tah for next season: he'll sign for five years and will arrive completely free. It's a personal request made by Hansi Flick himself, and Laporta wanted to fulfilll it. He won't arrive until June, when his contract with Bayer Leverkusen officially ends. There's no doubt about it and the agreement is expected to be finalized sooner rather than later.
All of Europe is aware of Andreas Christensen's current situation: Hansi Flick doesn't want him and he's willing to leave Barça. The focus is on the Premier League, where he already gained experience at Chelsea, but this wouldn't be the most interested team in acquiring him. Newcastle remains alert to what the future holds for the Dane, preparing a proposal to convince him next summer.
Meanwhile, in Italy, Juventus is also on his trail. They are interested but they don't have the financial capacity of Newcastle. In any case, it's too early to talk about Andreas Christensen's departure. Nothing is being negotiated yet, although it's true that the defender already knows that Hansi Flick has opened the doors of Barça for him for the next season.
