Not Even Gavi Can Prevent It — His Best Friend Leaves Barca: Deco Negotiates His Sale

The midfielder is already saying goodbye to him, he can't help it: his days at Barça are numbered

FC Barcelona is preparing significant changes for the next season, and Ansu Fati's name is not included in the squad planning. It has been decided that the homegrown player, who not long ago seemed like the crown jewel, will leave the culer entity this summer. He has one of the highest salaries on the team, and although he is only 22 years old, injuries have hindered his enormous potential.

He has played only 298 minutes across 11 matches this season and both parties will choose to part ways in the coming weeks. He has no shortage of offers, but it is equally true that his high salary makes reaching an agreement difficult. Deco is already negotiating his departure, that is the plan, reserving a buy-back clause and a percentage of a hypothetical future sale. It is not easy, but there is trust in being able to find a mutual agreement between both parties.

Gavi already says goodbye to Ansu Fati: Farewell to Barça

Amid the rumors about Ansu Fati's possible departure, his best friend in the Barça locker room, Gavi, has only fueled everything. In recent days, he has been seen being especially affectionate with him, and his latest message on Instagram would be definitive.

Recalling old times, when they were young, Gavi posted a picture of himself with Ansu Fati, with the text: "I love you brother." All of this, along with a fist-bump emoji and a heart emoji. The outcome of all this seems clear: the forward will end up packing his bags and leaving FC Barcelona, although it remains to be seen where he will end up.

Ansu Fati: Numbers' fault

FC Barcelona has a problem with Ansu Fati. The winger has a contract in force with the blaugrana club until 2027, but his salary has become a real burden for the club's finances. Ansu will earn a gross salary of 12 million euros next season, which could reach 16 million if certain contractual variables are met.

In the midst of the struggle to comply with LaLiga's financial 'fair play' and after years of trying to reduce the wage bill, Ansu's continuity in the squad poses an economic risk. Deco is aware of the situation and is already working on an exit for the footballer. His future is more outside than inside Barça.

Although his quality is indisputable, Ansu Fati's performance has been marked by injuries and inconsistency. He has not managed to establish himself as a starter and his salary doesn't match his current role on the team. Barça's priority is to lighten the wage bill, and the forward tops the list of possible departures.
