Lothar Matthäus is keeping a close eye on the progress of his good friend Hansi Flick leading Barça. The German legend is happy with the performance the boss has achieved so far, but believes he can even improve. To this end, he's put on the table a transfer that, according to him, would be a godsend for the blaugrana team: Angelo Stiller.
Speaking about Angelo Stiller, Matthäus was blunt: "He'd be good for Barça because of his play style. I trust him and if Barcelona were to sell, his transfer would be possible and sensible." He didn't stop there, adding that "Stiller could put his stamp on Barça and organize the midfield there."
The German legend's recommendation to Hansi Flick is clear: Get rid of De Jong and strengthen the midfield with the arrival of Angelo Stiller. He believes that his compatriot could do well wearing the Barça jersey, being one of the main options in the midfield.
Angelo Stiller: Hansi Flick Puts Him on Barça's Radar
This is not the first time Angelo Stiller has been linked with a Barcelona reinforcement. Despite Matthäus's public "offer", the reality is that Flick already mentioned his name as soon as he set foot in the Ciutat Esportiva for the first time. The German has been sure for some time that he is a player capable of leading the Barcelona midfield.
At 23 years old, Angelo Stiller has a contract with Stuttgart until 2027. However, he feels capable of taking the leap to a higher-level team next summer. He is valued at around 30 million euros, although the reality is that he isn't a priority for Barça. He isn't being followed, not because Matthäus recommended him. He is appealing but his position already has an owner.
Stiller occupies the position of central midfielder, where Marc Casadó is currently shining. At Barça, no one is thinking of getting rid of the youth player and it seems difficult that another player could arrive. In addition, the injured Bernal, who was a starter even before Casadó this season, is also in the squad for next season.
The reality is this: Angelo Stiller is tempting and Matthäus's words are appreciated but Hansi Flick's Barça has other priorities. Next summer there will be movements and changes are expected in various positions in the squad.
