Neither Betis nor Sevilla, Ansu Fati has a new team far from Spain: he'll play in the Champions League.

The '10' will not continue at FC Barcelona next season and is heading to a destination that nobody expected

The situation of Ansu Fati has sparked the interest of several teams in Europe, including some that will compete in the next edition of the Champions League. At 22 years old, he has had little presence this season with Barça and will choose to leave to regain his form. He has a contract in force until 2027, although the doors of Camp Nou are open if he comes with a proposal that means getting rid of his salary.

At the moment, Ansu Fati is one of the highest-paid players in FC Barcelona's squad. He renewed as the great promise of La Masia and without having suffered so many physical problems.  He started with a low salary, which has grown to the point of being among the five highest-paid at the culer club. The idea is clear: facilitate his departure if he refuses to collect what he has formed.

Ansu Fati has an offer to play in the Champions

Mundo Deportivo has discovered that the Spanish forward  still has a reputation across Europe, to the point that Monaco "has already taken some steps" to try to sign him. The Monegasque team finished in third position in Ligue 1, securing their qualification for the next edition of the Champions. Trying to recover his best version, they are interested in negotiating his arrival from FC Barcelona.

The indication given by Barça is clear and Monaco knows it.  Ansu Fati can leave for free, as long as they don't have to pay him a single euro of his salary, nor lose track of him. This means he could do so on loan, or transferred, including buy-back options and percentages of future sales.

In this sense, it seems that Monaco would be interested in acquiring Ansu Fati permanently, although there could be issues with his salary. They are not willing to pay him everything he is currently earning at FC Barcelona, which could pose a setback for carrying out the operation.

Ansu Fati aims to leave Spain

There has been a lot of speculation in recent months. At times, it seemed that the young player was aiming to stay in the country, with Betis and Sevilla as the main interested parties. However, this option is practically ruled out, as no one can pay the high salary he is currently earning.

The possibility of joining Sánchez-Pizjuán was always on the table... but in recent times the relations between both clubs have been strained. With an agreement almost closed, Laporta decided to pull it back due to the public statements made following the Negreira case: no way.
