Lobo Carrasco attacks a Barça star mercilessly: 'he's a sick man, I'd sanction him'

The former player harshly criticizes a player from the Barça team for an attitude he considers unacceptable

FC Barcelona is experiencing a new era, with Hansi Flick's arrival on the bench, the team has regained excitement, order, and ambition. The German coach has managed to transform a young squad into a competitive and promising group. La Masia, once again, is the soul of the team.

Players like Alejandro Balde, Pedri, Gavi, and Lamine Yamal are the present and future of the club. Their talent not only dazzles on the field, it also returns Barça to its identity: quality soccer, youth academy, and character. Camp Nou, although still under construction, vibrates with this generation.

a season with ups and downs and an unexpected signing

Despite the good direction, not everything has been easy, Ter Stegen's injury left a significant void. The club acted quickly and signed Wojciech Szczesny from Juventus. The veteran Polish goalkeeper has delivered on the field, but off it, he has caused controversy.

Szczesny has been seen on more than one occasion smoking during celebrations and leisure moments. Something that, for many, wouldn't have much importance... but not everyone agrees.

Lobo Carrasco explodes on "El Chiringuito"

Francisco José Carrasco, known as "Lobo Carrasco," didn't hold back on the program "El Chiringuito." The former Barça player harshly criticized Szczesny's smoking habit.

"For me, it's a bad image, when I see someone like that, I see a sick person," he said bluntly. Carrasco went further: "Forgive me for being so harsh, but they are sick. We must help them get out of that habit that takes life away from them."

The former footballer even called for a sanction for the goalkeeper for his behavior. "I would sanction him. It's a horrible image for the boys and girls who dream of being footballers."

Szczesny responds and defends himself

The goalkeeper didn't take long to respond, acknowledging that he smokes, but defended his right to do so in his private life. "It doesn't affect my performance, I do it where no one sees me. Sometimes someone takes a hidden photo of me, that's not up to me."

He also assured that he never does it in front of minors and that he works twice as hard to perform well.

Carrasco doesn't back down from his stance

The response didn't calm "Lobo," in fact, he doubled down on his criticism: "He can't say it's something personal, it's horrible. Smoking is a form of slow suicide." Carrasco insisted that, as a public figure, Szczesny must be aware of his influence.

He concluded with a strong reflection: "I have so much appreciation for life that I'm not going to give away a minute. That's the message I want to leave."
