Florentino and Laporta talk in the Bernabéu box

Laporta Asks and Florentino Remains Silent: 'When Will You Kick Them Out of Real Madrid?'

Three and a half months later, Laporta wonders about the incident at Bernabéu with a Barça minor

Three and a half months have already passed since FC Barcelona visited Bernabéu and left with a 0-4 in their favor.

FC Barcelona has been waiting for three and a half months for the sports and disciplinary authorities to do their job. Meanwhile, Real Madrid publishes a note explaining the sanctions imposed on their fans. The same ones who showed their racism toward Lamine Yamal and Raphinha in the last clásico at Bernabéu.

Joan Laporta knows that the Police have acted and identified the racist white fans. He also knows that Florentino knows their identity. But neither the sports authorities nor Real Madrid have confirmed the sanctions imposed on those fans.

Has Florentino expelled them from Real Madrid? Has he banned them from returning to Bernabéu, as has happened in other clubs? A mystery, there has been no note from Real Madrid.

This is not an isolated case. Racism is not limited to Vinícius. Alejandro Balde recently reported insults in Getafe against him for the color of his skin and against Barça.

But nothing happens. Balde is not Vinícius and the propaganda machine doesn't waste time on him generating social alarm.

What Barça Players Heard at Bernabéu

Silence, then. Laporta will be left wanting to know if they have been imposed prison sentences or a fine. Or the prohibition of accessing a sports venue, as has happened in Valencia and Mallorca.

Laporta doesn't expect Bernabéu to be closed totally or partially, as happened with Metropolitano, Mestalla, Villamarín, or Coliseo de Getafe. It's "the best stadium in the world," and that can't be done.

The official version holds that there will be no punishment for Real Madrid because the incident didn't affect the development of the match. That is, Real Madrid can be grateful to Lamine Yamal and Raphinha for not stopping the match, like Vinícius, when they heard the insults in the corner of Bernabéu.

There they heard insults that have gone viral: "shitty kid," "fucking black," or "fucking Moors" or "go sell tissues at the traffic light."

Real Madrid Committed to Doing Something

Real Madrid as an institution reported that they had opened an investigation to "locate and identify" "a few fans" who insulted Yamal. To then "adopt the pertinent disciplinary and judicial measures."

To this day it is unknown what disciplinary and pertinent measures Real Madrid has applied. It is surprising that they haven't communicated it publicly given their fondness for drafting notes on relevant current issues.

A Mallorca fan was sentenced to 12 months in prison for insulting Vinícius. Additionally, prohibiting him from accessing sports venues for three years.

Also for insulting Vinícius, three Valencia supporters were sentenced to 8 months in prison after apologizing in a public letter. Something that hasn't happened with the verbal aggressors of Yamal and Raphinha. They were also given two years without setting foot in a sports venue.

In a statement, the white club expressed: "Real Madrid will continue working to protect the values of our club. And eradicate any racist behavior in the world of soccer and sports".

Vinícius Took a Stand Against Real Madrid Fans

But not a line about the exemplary punishment imposed on the non-eradicated followers of Bernabéu.

The issue was serious enough for Vinícius to distance himself from his club's inaction. He sided with his Barça colleagues: "Regrettable what happened yesterday at Bernabéu with racist insults. There is no room for these criminals in our society...

...All my support to Lamine, Ansu, and Raphinha. I know that Madrid and the Police will do things to identify and punish the culprits", wrote the Brazilian.

But three and a half months later, we still have no news about the promised punishment for the racist fans of Bernabéu.

For that fact three people were arrested by the National Police. At that time it was said that the accused face charges for an alleged crime against moral integrity.

The National Police report was very clear: "the events occurred when the rival team (Barcelona) scored a goal and their players went to celebrate it in the stands. At that moment, several spectators made monkey gestures, referring to two of the footballers. In addition to uttering discriminatory expressions that undermined the moral integrity of both...

The Crime Is Aggravated Because Lamine Yamal Is a Minor

...These behaviors went viral, which made different national and international media echo the news due to the enormous public repercussion achieved".

The police note gave the fact an importance that Real Madrid and the disciplinary bodies have downplayed.

Antiviolence requested a 5,000 euro fine and a prohibition of access to sports venues for a period of 12 months for the identified fans.

Additionally, the fact that Lamine Yamal is a minor aggravates the crime of the Madrid fans.

Three and a Half Months and Florentino Hasn't Expelled Them from the Club

La Sexta Noticias, which is in charge of whitewashing more than anyone through Antonio García Ferreras, explained it like this. "Real Madrid already has located the fans who starred in the racist insults and gestures to Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Ansu Fati...

...And  will apply the strictest measures in their internal regime. These sanctions from Real Madrid are apart from the punishments applied by the Law. The Police also have identified the people who uttered the racist insults against the Barcelona footballers".

Three and a half months later, Joan Laporta is still waiting for news and exemplary sanctions. The verbal and physical aggressors who attacked the dignity of Barça players, one of them a minor, have gone unpunished.

Florentino Pérez is taking a long time. Is it that the fight against racism depends on the color of the jersey?
