Juventus Returns for Ronald Araújo and Makes Its Offer to Barça: 'Swap for...'

The Italians want to take Ronald Araújo and offer one of their players in exchange.

Despite his renewal with Barça, the reality is that the continuity of Ronald Araújo is far from confirmed. The interest from Juventus has not waned over time, and they are initiating a plan to try to revive conversations that have been dead since the Super Cup ended. There is time ahead, and the Italians wish to acquire the Uruguayan center-back, intending to put a lot of money on the table in the summer.

However, they will not only put money to try to convince Barça for Ronald Araújo. In recent hours, the possibility of negotiating a swap to accept the Uruguayan's departure is gaining strength. The chosen one is none other than Weston McKennie, a midfielder from the United States, whose contract ends in 2026 and could be included in the operation to try to lower his total price.

Weston McKennie's value currently exceeds 20 million euros, although it remains to be seen if Barça would be interested. He is 26 years old and can occupy different positions on the field, being able to play in the midfield or even on the wings. He is a very versatile midfielder who, so far this season, has scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists.

In this regard, it seems that Weston McKennie would actually be interested in this move, intending to leave Juventus.

Ronald Araújo, Future in Doubt: Juventus Returns to the Charge

Although he has renewed until 2031, it seems that Ronald Araújo is not at all clear about continuing at Barça next season. The possible arrival of Tah would not please him much, and he would be open to a departure depending on the plans Flick has for him.

For now, Ronald Araújo is happy and is not considering this possibility, although it is true that no one rules it out. Barça would be open to this, as long as they come with the money upfront. The valuation of the Uruguayan is around 70 or 80 million euros, a final amount that could decrease if Weston McKennie ends up being included in the operation.

However, it is too early to talk about it. What is clear is that the Ronald Araújo saga did not end with his renewal and remains very open. Juventus is closely monitoring the situation and hopes to convince him in the not-too-distant future. Despite everything, the Uruguayan defender now only thinks about Barça and, if he were to leave, he would prefer the experience in the Premier League.
