José Álvarez Reveals the Surprises Hansi Flick is Preparing for Inter-Barça

Flick has an ace up his sleeve to win in Milan and secure qualification for the Champions League final

Barça Needs to Win in Milan to Qualify for the Champions League Final. After the first leg in Montjuïc, the tie will travel to Italy with a 3-3 draw on the scoreboard. Hansi Flick is clear that victory is very possible, especially considering the surprises he has up his sleeve. Journalist José Álvarez has talked about them, revealing on El Chiringuito the two new developments the German is preparing in the squad list.

Balde and Lewandowski in the List for Inter-Barça

Two key and starting players for Hansi Flick couldn't be present in the first leg: Alejandro Balde and Robert Lewandowski. Despite this, the idea is that they will be available for the return leg to be played in Milan, even trying to push if necessary.

José Álvarez has indicated: "The idea that Barcelona and the players themselves have is that both Balde and Robert Lewandowski will be drafted to Milan. That they will receive medical clearance on Monday."

In this regard, he has revealed differences between the two: "Balde will very likely be a starter. Lewandowski's evolution will be seen: he will definitely be ready for El Clásico, in Milan he might push. At Barça, they are clear that it's the match where, if he has to break again, let him break."

Differences Between Balde and Lewandowski

Balde is ready to make his return against Inter Milan. The youth player has completed his recovery process and will receive medical clearance before heading to Italy, being available for Hansi Flick. He is a crucial footballer in his plans, especially considering the issues Gerard Martín presented in the first leg.

The case of Lewandowski is entirely different. The veteran forward is still recovering but considers it necessary to push to be available in Milan. He is facing a golden opportunity to play another Champions League final and doesn't want to let his teammates down.

Initially, it was expected that the Pole would miss the match and reappear in El Clásico of LaLiga against Real Madrid. But the plans are going in another direction: the possibility of playing another Champions League final is very real and he wants to help his teammates. While Alejandro Balde will be a starter in the return leg against Inter, the expectation is that Robert Lewandowski will start from the bench and play if necessary.
