Joan Laporta's moves pay off: the new signing is already shining at Barça

A move that combines sporting ambition, financial strength, and international projection for the club's future

FC Barcelona has taken a decisive step in its economic and sporting strategy. This Tuesday, the first-team players surprised during training. On the back of their training jerseys, they displayed the name of the new sponsor, RD Congo.

The agreement was made official last July 30. It is a contract that will extend until the 2028-29 season. Each season, Barça will receive 11 million euros, totaling 44 million euros over the entire duration of the agreement.

This financial injection is key. It will help the club not only strengthen its squad but also meet the economic fair play requirements of LaLiga.

More than a sponsorship: a cultural bond

The agreement is not limited to a simple presence on the jersey. In addition to the first-team players, all professional teams of Barça will wear the "RD Congo – Coeur de Afrique" emblem on the back of their training jerseys. This makes the Democratic Republic of the Congo a Global Partner of the club.

The agreement will also have an impact on the future Espai Barça. In the new facilities of Spotify Camp Nou, the RDC House will be created. This space will highlight the richness and diversity of Congolese cultural and sporting heritage through interactive exhibitions. The goal is clear: to strengthen ties with the African nation and generate a cultural and sporting exchange.

Boost to training and grassroots sports

Barça is not limited to cultural visibility. The club, through Barça Academies, will implement sports activity programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Camps and clinics aimed at children in the region will be developed. The disciplines will be varied: soccer, basketball, handball, futsal, and roller hockey. The goal is to offer structured and inclusive development, promoting sports practice in a comprehensive way.

A move that inspires trust

This agreement is also a reflection of Joan Laporta's management. His vision combines sporting ambition with economic stability and international projection.

Other European clubs, such as AS Monaco and AC Milan, have also signed agreements with RD Congo recently. However, Barça stands out for the breadth and the cultural and social focus of its collaboration. It is not just about money; it is a long-term growth strategy.
