Joan García and Nico Williams are Not the Only Ones: Deco Secures a Third Signing

FC Barcelona is making progress in negotiations to finalize a surprise signing this summer

Deco is busy and active and, this time, he doesn't want to leave any work unfinished ahead of the final phase of the transfer window. So far, he's already closed the signing of Joan García and the deal for Nico Williams is very close. Although it had been said that these would be the only additions to Barça this summer, the sporting director has surprised everyone by setting up a third move.

Roony Bardghji: The surprise deal

A few days ago, direct talks with the entourage of Roony Bardghji to negotiate his signing were revealed. In fact, this past Thursday his agent was in the city of Barcelona, meeting with Deco and the rest of the sporting management. There's a clear reason for this: the Portuguese doesn't want to miss out on a forward with his characteristics, as he's a very interesting market option.

Roony Bardghji's contract with Copenhagen ends next December 31, so he's just a few months away from being a free agent. With both parties interested in joining forces, it's yet to be determined what kind of deal it will be.

Mundo Deportivo has found out that, instead of waiting until his contract ends, Deco could choose to make a small investment. We're talking about €2 or €3 million for the Sweden international, which is considered a real bargain. He'll soon turn 20 and he's ready to make the leap in quality after going through a tough period due to injuries.

Barça: Calm about his track record

Roony Bardghji suffered a serious injury on May 2, 2024, returning almost a year later. In this last season, he played six matches in Denmark, being important for winning the league. This is something that keeps FC Barcelona calm, as they have medical reports that fully support his recovery.

He's a winger Deco has been following for some time, and now he's on the table as a market option. For €2 or €3 million, he'd arrive immediately. Bardghji is desperate to wear Barcelona's jersey, a team he's supported since he was a child and of which he's a fan.

If negotiations are successful, Roony Bardghji would be a signing to start adapting in the reserve team, but training with the first team under Hansi Flick. The idea is clear: he's seen as having the potential to do great things in the first team... but after so much time injured, he'd need some time at La Masia.
