Flick confirms MB's exclusive: 'I've spoken with Fermín and I think he's staying'

'He lives for Barça and loves it; the club is in his heart,' Flick has said about Fermín's feelings

Hansi Flick addressed the pre-match press conference ahead of the Rayo Vallecano-Barça game this Sunday, answering many questions about Fermín and his future. This is the issue that concerns the Catalan city.

This is the topic of the day in Barcelona while Barcelona fans are waiting for the player himself to announce his decision to stay or leave.

After downplaying the poor condition of the Vallecas field ("it's something we can't change. We have to play just like Rayo. It doesn't affect us"), he referred to Gavi's injury, which disrupts his plans and rules him out of the Rayo-Barça match:

"Fermín will stay at Barça"

"We hope he'll be back against Valencia. It depends on how he progresses. From yesterday to today he's improved and he has to work and wait for further progress."

Gavi's injury and its bad omens was one of the topics Flick touched on in the conversation he had with Fermín. This happened a few hours ago, when he tried to convince him to stay at Barça. The German coach, in any case, remains optimistic about the issue:

"I've told him my opinion. Players and their circles think things. There are people who might know more, but I'm happy that Fermín plays for us and he showed it last season."

"His style is different from others. He can help us a lot."

"For now, he's here. I've spoken with him and I'm convinced that he'll stay. In the end, I don't know what will happen, but he's here and I'll be happy when the transfer window closes."

"Fermín knows that the club wants him to stay"

"He knows that we want him to stay. I've seen him as usual, training well."

"Fermín is an aggressive player on the field both with and without the ball, also when he comes in from the second-to-last line. He's a great player at scoring, making the final pass..."

"When he's on the field and in a good mood, you can see it. He lives for Barça, he loves Barça. I don't want to say much, but the club is in his heart."
