Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester United are looking for a buyer for Marcus Rashford. They've set a price: €47M. €13M cheaper than Nico Williams.
Aston Villa have a purchase option for this same amount, but they won't receive any special treatment. United will sell to the highest bidder. The decision is in Rashford's own hands, as he is eager to wear Barça's jersey.
FC Barcelona have intensified their interest in Marcus Rashford as a more affordable and versatile alternative to Nico Williams. The Catalan club already knows the starting price set by the "Red Devils": £40M (€47M). This figure is considered accessible in the current market.
Rashford is willing to earn less to play for Barça
Rashford, who is 27 years old, isn't part of United's manager, Portuguese Rúben Amorim's plans, and is looking for a new destination where he can regain his best form. Barça see him as a market opportunity to strengthen their attack. He is an experienced and versatile player, capable of playing both on the left wing and in the center of the attack.
The main obstacle for the deal is Rashford's high salary, which amounts to €18M gross per season. Manchester United have made it clear that they won't cover any part of this wage in the event of a loan, which forces Barça to free up salary space first.
To facilitate his arrival, Rashford would be willing to lower his salary. He has set three conditions: a loan contract with a purchase option, to play at least 45% of the minutes, and an attractive role.

Barça must part ways with an expensive player
Barça's sporting management, led by Deco, view Rashford's addition positively, but believe that his arrival will only be possible if departures occur that free up financial resources. Players like Ansu Fati, who is close to joining Monaco, or Andreas Christensen could be transferred to generate income and reduce the wage bill.
FC Barcelona see Marcus Rashford as an attractive option to strengthen their attack... as long as the necessary financial conditions for his signing are met.
He is cheaper than Nico Williams, has extensive international experience, and is at the level of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. He would be a guarantee in the rotations Flick intends to make.
