Two people on a sports TV show discuss the Ballon d'Or, with a graphic saying "I expected more from you."

Don't Get Too Cocky: Guti Replies to Chants of 'Beach Ball for Vinícius'

Guti considers this expression directed at Vinícius as an insult and forgets his contempt for Barça.

Guti is the match analyst whom Real Madrid enjoys on DAZN. He didn't like the chants directed at Vinícius at the Metropolitano and Montjuïc. At El Chiringuito  they told him not to get too full of himself.

Guti didn't like the phrase "Beach Ball for Vinícius" at all. Does he see racism in that expression? For Guti it's the same as an insult and he denounces it.

This is what he said last night on El Chiringuito: "These chants are going to hurt. For me, calling him a son of... is the same as the Beach Ball thing."

He added: "They are going to hurt where it hurts the most. The point is not whether the insult is the biggest or the smallest, but whether they are going to hurt the person."

Guti is very sensitive to these aggressions and has reached very dangerous conclusions: "In soccer, where there's rivalry there's hatred. That's what is like in Spanish soccer." Perhaps he speaks for himself, perhaps he sees it that way, which would explain many of his sectarian reactions.

Petón to Guti: "You Get Cocky"

Josep Pedrerol, astonished, replied: “insults are one thing, the Beach Ball thing is a taunt.” And someone on the set spoke of “wittiness". It's like "Dementia" used for Estudiantes; it's not an insult.”

Petón intervened: “That expression seems to me to be a smart limit, which has nothing to do with insult.”

Guti replied back: “I expected more from you as a person. Smart? You can't insult.

"Let everything be criticized, even if it's from your club. Even if it's not an insult, it still hurts."

Petón insisted that “no one can apply a sanction for saying Beach Ball.” And Guti replied: “We are on a program that is watched by too many people not to point this out. We also have to say no to things like this.”

Petón concluded: “I think you are getting cocky. You don't accept that, on a soccer field, things can be said other than insults.”

"Sociological Madridism", a term coined by Joan Laporta and to which Guti belongs, doesn't allow criticism when it's directed at Real Madrid .

You can't shout "Beach Ball" at Vinícius because it's derogatory.

Isn't what's Heard at Bernabéu and what Guti Says Offensive?

Instead, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha can hear at Bernabéu “You mena sh..., motherf.... F... N...”

Like the "olelé, olalá, being a Barça fan is being retarded" or the "f... Barça" that was heard at Bernabéu in the last Clásico and for the last 20 years.

They are very thin-skinned when it comes to what they want. Guti said a few weeks ago on El Chiringuito:

"Where there's a concert,  any Atlético-Rayo matchshould be called off."

Also: "I don't watch Barça. I don't know if it's fun or not because I'm not watching it today. I've susbcribed to the entire League on my TV except for Barcelona."

Or "I don't waste a second on this four-week dream, on their[Barcelona's]four-day dream ."

What is the difference between this and the Beach Ball?

Sociological Madridism in its purest form.
