Deadline for January 1st – He is Nervous and Fears the Worst: Not Even Flick Can Help

January 1st is approaching and a solution is floating around: his transfer to another team

January 1st is approaching, the deadline of the contract that Dani Olmo signed in September to be able to play for Barça.

Nico Williams was Right

The situation is delicate because, at the moment, Barça cannot re-register him. This confirms the reluctance shown by Nico Williams to sign for Barça this summer.

He was serious. Apart from the economic situation, which is not an obstacle, there's the legal problem with financial fair play. The hands of the club are thus tied.

You can't stretch your arm any further than your sleeve. The accounting must be in order and Barça's are not.

Barça will be in a Precarious Situation until Camp Nou is Finished

Dani Olmo was also not eligible for registration this summer. If he has played so far it's because the club took advantage of the "providential" long-term absence of Andreas Christensen.

Barça is doomed to endure hardship until Camp Nou is fully completed. Only then will it be able to fill its full capacity of 104,000 spectators and have access to the income of the 85,000 season ticket holders.

Until then, things will have to be patched up. Now he is relying on a new contract with Nike that never comes to light to straighten things out.

Even this is not enough. Dani Olmo's been told about this and he is more than worried.Pau Víctor is in the same situation.

If a solution that no one expects is not reached before December 31, they will be left in the cold like footballers without a contract.

Neither Imaginative Solutions nor Million-Dollar Transfers

Since the end of summer until now, Laporta has had enough time to find an imaginative solution (or a transfer). Even so, neither solutions nor transfers have arrived and January 1 is inexorably approaching.

The sale of Barça Studios and the 75 million euro scam that has left a bluff shaped as a boost haven't helped. And La Liga is now showing to be inflexible in demanding compliance with the current regulations for everyone.

Barça needs to comply with the 1:1 rule in order to sign Olmo. At the moment, such circumstances don't exist. The new contract with Nike will be very profitable in the future but today it doesn't solve anything.

The message is being sent from the management that the club is looking for new sponsors. However, it's hard to believe that what wasn't achieved in August, September, October and November will be achieved now, no matter how many trips the president makes to Azerbaijan or Mongolia.

Dani Olmo's Loan as an Alternative

Now Laporta is desperately trying to get more money out of the team's shorts while waiting for a million-dollar income to help him. He announces that this summer there will be a tour around Asia, which brings in more money than the United States.

Again, this is not enough. With the season ticket holders fully booked and Camp Nou packed, none of this would be happening. Still, the time is right and Olmo can't wait for Camp Nou to be finished in 2027.

The problem could be solved with a multi-million-dollar transfer, but the club's ability to convince has been zero so far. Nobody wants to leave Barça.

There's no other way out than  the directors's personal acknowledgement  to their management errors. Either that or loaning Olmo to another team where he can play.
