Barcelona is certain that Marcus Rashford could be one of the great opportunities in the market. His situation at Manchester United is not good, he is not part of Amorim's plans, and his value has dropped compared to previous seasons. However, it is still not an easy signing.
Barcelona proposed a formula that fits with Joan Laporta's sporting and financial plans: a one-season loan with a non-mandatory purchase option. A loan that would allow the footballer to relaunch himself without committing the club if his performance was not the desired one.
United's response has been clear: no. They do not accept a departure under those conditions, much less without financial guarantees. The English club does consider a Rashford exit, but not at any price.

A name on the table
Manchester United has put a name on the table that no one expected: Fermín López. The young midfielder has caught attention at Old Trafford for his character, physical display, and ability to get forward. In England, they like his profile and believe he could succeed in the Premier League.
The proposal they have sent to Barcelona is direct: a swap between Rashford and Fermín. An operation that, at first glance, may seem interesting, but which hides several aspects that complicate its viability.
Laporta and Deco are not closing the door completely. They are listening. However, they set very clear conditions.
Because, in salary terms, the change would be devastating for Barcelona.
The main obstacle: salary
Rashford earns four times more than Fermín. The Englishman's salary is around €12 million net per season, while Fermín still has a youth contract with status. In terms of wage bill alone, Barcelona would lose out.
That's why, if United wants to close the swap, they will have to put up money. Not a small amount.
Barcelona values Fermín as a consolidated prospect, with international projection. Rashford, meanwhile, is already past his peak in his career.

The minimum amount demanded by the Catalan club is around €30 million. Only in this way would the jump in salary costs be financially compensated. If United agrees to include that money in the deal, the operation would be seriously considered.
Decision in the hands of the market
Flick has already given his approval to Rashford's arrival, but he doesn't want to lose Fermín at any price. Laporta is studying the numbers. Deco is looking at options in case the swap doesn't go through.
The market is underway and there is time to negotiate. If United doesn't make a move, Barcelona will not either.
The interest is real, but the conditions are set by the Catalan club. They will not give anything away.
