Confirmed. Valencia wanted him, but Barça rejected the offer: determined by Flick

There was interest in the winter market, but Hansi Flick didn't want to weaken the squad without having a replacement.

There was a lot of movement in Barça's offices during January, both trying to secure arrivals and finalize departures. Among the teams that knocked on the Catalan team's door was Valencia, which was interested in a player involved with the first team. We are talking about Héctor Fort, a right-back who isn't considered very important by Hansi Flick.

Madrid-Barcelona discovered that there was interest from Valencia in Héctor Fort, but only for a loan for the remainder of the season. In this same line is also SPORT, indicating that the contacts had a short duration. At all times, the reply regarding the youth player was the same to all interested parties: "He isn't available".

Even though at Valencia he would have had more minutes, what Hansi Flick was clear about at all times is that the culer squad couldn't be weakened. From above, they couldn't assure him that the right flank would be reinforced in the event of a hypothetical departure of Héctor Fort, so he decided to reject his departure.

Hansi Flick understood that, possibly, Héctor Fort would have had more minutes at Valencia... but he couldn't accept his loan if they didn't guarantee the arrival of another right-back. For the next season, the departure of the Catalan isn't ruled out so he can grow away from Barça, with more minutes, but for now, nothing has been discussed.

Not only Valencia: Héctor Fort caused a lot of interest

In this sense, not only did Barça receive a call from Valencia for Héctor Fort. Another report from SPORT points out that Como also wanted him, asking half of Europe about their players. However, the reply was the same: "He isn't leaving". Everything was stopped by a Hansi Flick who demanded reinforcements if there were departures in key positions.

Deco will try to reinforce the right-back position given Flick's lack of confidence in Héctor Fort. The plan is to find him a loan next summer and bring in another player who can have an immediate impact. In certain matches, Koundé needs rest and the young player isn't seen as ready.

There are different names on the table, although that position isn't a priority. In the event that no one arrives, Héctor Fort would stay at Barça. However, it's still early to talk about it...
