Marc Bernal, just 18 years old, became Barça's great sensation at the start of last season, although it lasted only a short time. The midfielder suffered a serious injury in one of the first LaLiga matches and, since then, he hasn't played again. He was present on the three-match tour of Japan and Korea, although in all of them he stayed on the bench on the express recommendation of the culer medical staff.
The recovery has been positive, but they don't want to push him at all to avoid any possible risk of relapse. The trust in Bernal looking to the future is total and nobody wants to make a misstep. Multiple teams have called to discuss his signing this season on loan... and all of them have received the same answer: he won't leave, he stays at Barça.

Hansi Flick counts on Bernal
Hansi Flick's trust in La Masia's talent remains at 100%. He has closely followed his recovery process and the idea is for him to follow a plan similar to Gavi's last season. The Andalusian gradually played more, without being rushed, and regained his match rhythm after a tough injury that kept him off the field for a year.
It's not ruled out that he could get some minutes against Como in the Joan Gamper Trophy, although no decision has been made yet. Barça assure that there will be "total calm" with Marc Bernal... as a full-fledged first-team player with no intention of leaving.
Renewed until 2029
In this regard, "El Chiringuito" has revealed that Marc Bernal's contract extension until 2029 will take place this August. All proposals for his departure have been rejected, with a firm agreement in place for several months. Everything will be official when the various first-team players are registered.
What Madrid-Barcelona has learned is that the Catalan will also get a first-team registration, intending to choose an available number. The number 5 has become available after Íñigo Martínez's departure and he'd be very excited to inherit it, as it's a number that has been worn by academy graduates like Puyol or Busquets. However, it seems it will end up going to Cubarsí.

In this new agreement, Marc Bernal's release clause will be set at €500 million, with a salary that increases year after year.
