Confirmed! Sold to Bayern Munich: Marcus Rashford is Directly Responsible

How a key signing is reshaping the strategies of major clubs in this summer transfer window

The 2025 summer transfer market is hotter than ever. FC Barcelona has completed the signing of Marcus Rashford, a move that completely changes the cards in play. Luis Díaz, the Colombian winger who was also on the blaugrana list, is left out and now Bayern Munich is going all in to sign him.

Marcus Rashford joins Barça and leaves Luis Díaz out

After weeks of speculation, FC Barcelona has made Marcus Rashford's arrival official. The English forward arrives with the mission of strengthening the Culé attack and bringing top-level speed, goals, and experience.

This addition, however, has immediate consequences. Luis Díaz, who was on Barça's agenda as a possible reinforcement for the left wing, is now ruled out. Rashford's signing closes the door for Díaz at Camp Nou, as that offensive need has already been covered.

Bayern sets sights on Luis Díaz to strengthen its attack

With Rashford out of reach, Bayern Munich has put all its energy into Luis Díaz. The Bavarian club is urgently looking for a winger after Leroy Sané's departure and Jamal Musiala's serious injury. Díaz fits perfectly in that profile and is now Bayern's priority.

According to German media such as Sport Bild and Abendzeitung, Bayern is optimistic and expects to close the deal in the coming days, thus strengthening its squad for the upcoming season.

Complex negotiations but with high expectations

Liverpool, Luis Díaz's current club, had rejected initial offers close to €67.5 million ($73.6 million). However, with pressure from Bayern and the market, they are now showing more willingness to negotiate.

Bayern doesn't want to pay more than €75-80 million ($81.6-87.7 million) for Luis Díaz. To facilitate the agreement, clauses are proposed that would allow Liverpool to profit if Díaz is later sold to another club, such as one from the Saudi League.

Bayern is offering Díaz a four-year contract and a gross annual salary of €14 million ($15.2 million), much higher than his current contract.

A summer that redefines Barça's and Bayern's plans

Marcus Rashford's signing for Barça and Bayern's firm interest in Luis Díaz set the pace for this summer market. Barça is betting on a forward with goals and experience, while Bayern is looking to strengthen its wing with a player of quality and youth.

The coming weeks will be crucial to finalize Luis Díaz's transfer. For now, Rashford is the key name that has moved all the pieces. The market remains open and fans are waiting to see how these moves will affect the 2025-26 season.
