Confirmed, Jules Koundé in Trouble: Deco Chooses Barça's New Full-Back, 2 Options

Deco is looking for alternatives to replace Jules Koundé, and there are two names on his wish list that are favorites

Jules Koundé has established himself as one of Barça's most important players this season. Although his natural position is center-back, Hansi Flick has decided to place him as a right-back, a position he has successfully performed.

The Frenchman has been key in defense, being the most used by Flick, with 2,717 minutes so far this season. Koundé has not only shown defensive solidity but has also contributed 6 assists in all competitions.

Héctor Fort Has No Minutes and Deco Seeks Options

With Jules Koundé's performance on the right flank, Héctor Fort has been relegated to the background. The youth player has not been able to prove his worth and seems not to be in Hansi Flick's plans.

Meanwhile, Deco, the sporting director, has gotten to work. He is looking for a right-back to give Koundé a break during the next season. The goal is not to overburden the French defender.

In recent weeks, Deco has identified two alternatives that could be the solution to this problem. Both have a good level and fit into Barça's plans. Two great reinforcements to help Jules Koundé.

Marc Pubill, the Spanish Option

Marc Pubill is a right-back who has stood out this season at Almería. At just 21 years old, he has proven to be one of the promises of Spanish soccer.

Pubill has played 29 matches in La Liga, totaling more than 2000 minutes. His market value is around 10 million euros, making him an accessible option.

Daniel Muñoz, the Alternative from the Premier League

The other option on Deco's list has great potential. Daniel Muñoz, a Colombian right-back, has been a starter for his team throughout the season.

Muñoz has played 28 matches in the league and is known for his great offensive capability. His market value is also affordable, around 8 million euros, making him an interesting option.

Jules Koundé Needs Rest

Although Koundé remains the undisputed starter at right-back, a possible arrival would give Barça an opportunity to improve rotation. Deco is clear that Flick can't continue overburdening the Frenchman if he wants to reach the end of the season at 100%.

Both options, Marc Pubill and Daniel Muñoz, seem to be good alternatives to give Jules Koundé a rest. In the coming weeks, Deco will make a decision on which of the two will be the new reinforcement for the defense.
