Confirmed! Joan Laporta Breaks His Promise — He May Leave Barça: Four Offers

Top European teams are knocking on his door while he still hasn't seen his renewal promise fulfilled

Barça always tries to keep the great talents from its famous academy, La Masia, but it's not always possible. They managed to convince Guille Fernández to stay, but by promising him an important role in the first team that, so far, he hasn't had. When he was renewed, he agreed to earn less money than at other clubs, as  they assured him he would have opportunities with the "seniors."

So far, Guille Fernández hasn't debuted with the first team in an official match, although he has been included in several drafts. In the summer, Hansi Flick took him to the preseason, something he hopes to do in a few months. However, the continuity of the academy player is currently uncertain: several big clubs are following him and Mundo Deportivo has made his doubts public.

Guille Fernández has four offers to leave Barça

On June 18, Guille Fernández will turn 17 and his enormous potential hasn't gone unnoticed in Europe. He is a highly regarded midfielder and fits into the plans of several top-level teams, who are trying to force his departure from Barça. So far, he hasn't made any decision, but he is considering it and his continuity is in serious doubt.

Mundo Deportivo has discovered the interest of up to  four Champions League teams to take him in the summer, promising him minutes he doesn't have at FC Barcelona.

One of them is Porto, which offers the best possible conditions for Barça. There is the possibility of repeating with Guille Fernández the operation that was recently done for Nico González.

The idea would be a transfer with a buyback option in the coming years. Also, the possibility of earning money from a hypothetical future sale, maintaining part of his federative rights.

In this regard, not all clubs would be equally accommodating to Barça. In Germany, for example, Bayern and Borussia Dortmund are keeping an eye on Guille Fernández. The same goes for Manchester City under Guardiola, who is persistent in taking players from the culer club.

Guille Fernández will talk to Flick

The academy player's dream is to succeed wearing Barça's jersey, but he believes he has the level to have at least appeared for the first team by now. He won't make any hasty decisions, as he knows that Joan Laporta wants him at the club. Despite everything,  he plans to talk to Hansi Flick to discuss this matter and find out what his plans are for him.

La Masia is a vital source of footballers for FC Barcelona's first team, but not everyone can make it. We'll have to see what happens with Guille Fernández...
