Confirmed, Aston Villa offers €50M! 'Hansi Flick's response doesn't take long.'

An unexpected offer shakes up the transfer market and could change the course of the upcoming season

Aston Villa wants to make a significant leap in its squad for the 25/26 season. Its goal is to strengthen the attack and, for that, they've set their sights on Ferran Torres.

It's not the first time the English club has tried to sign him, but this time they've decided to go all in. According to various sources, Aston has submitted an offer of €50 million, about €10 million above the current market value.

Ferran Torres: a key piece for Barça

The 24/25 season was Ferran Torres's best since he arrived at Barça. With 45 matches played, he scored 19 goals and provided 7 assists. In addition, his role in Euro 2024 with Spain was important, playing five matches and scoring a goal against Albania.

In the preseason, during the Asian tour, Torres excelled by scoring two goals in the match against FC Seoul. Although at the start of the 25/26 season he won't be an undisputed starter, his commitment to Barça is not in doubt.

Sell or not sell? Barça's dilemma

In 2022, Barça paid €55 million to Manchester City for Ferran, who since then has been a key impact player for the team. He has tallied 44 goals and 20 assists in 158 appearances, a very respectable figure.

Now, the board led by Deco finds itself in a dilemma. On one hand, selling Ferran for €50 million would mean a financial boost that would help with the club's financial Fair Play. On the other hand, Hansi Flick considers him a key piece for his project and believes Ferran can contribute much more this season.

Internal competition: Marcus Rashford

Another detail that complicates Ferran Torres's departure is the arrival of Marcus Rashford. The English forward was loaned by Manchester United and has already started scoring in the preseason. With a profile similar to Ferran's, Rashford promises to fight for a spot in the attack.

Aston Villa trusts both for its offense. Rashford contributed 4 goals and 5 assists in 17 matches in the last half of the season with the team, and the competition will be tough.

Hansi Flick's firm stance

Despite Aston Villa's offer, Hansi Flick has made it clear that he doesn't want to lose Ferran Torres. The German coach values the "Shark" highly and is convinced that he will remain an essential piece in his system.

With this stance, Barça seems determined not to sell Ferran, at least for now. The renewal of the forward is not an immediate priority, but it remains on the table and his continuity seems secure if he wants to stay.
