Shock at Camp Nou: Fermín kicks him out of Barça and Guardiola takes him to City

The bomb being prepared for the next summer market

FC Barcelona continues shaping its squad for Hansi Flick's second year, and one of the big surprises on the horizon is Dani Olmo's farewell.

According to Relevo, Manchester City has set its sights on the RB Leipzig striker. Pep Guardiola wants him in his squad.

Fermín takes space from Olmo at Barça

Dani Olmo has experienced a tumultuous year in his debut as a Barça player. Between injuries and registration issues, he has barely had the opportunity to show his quality.

Additionally, his position is highly demanded, and by high-level players. This is the case with Gavi and Fermín. Both compete with him for the playmaker position with the center forward.

Hansi Flick is especially impressed with the performance Fermín offers him. In fact, he plans to give him more prominence next season.

The German coach, who has already made his opinion known to Deco and Laporta, believes the Andalusian youth player fits better into the style he wants to implement in the new Barça.

The new De Bruyne for City

Meanwhile, in Manchester, they are clear. Guardiola has been following Olmo for a while and sees in him a perfect player for his new project. At the Etihad, they consider the Spaniard to have the ideal profile to be De Bruyne's natural replacement in the medium term.

The departure of the Belgian international will leave a big gap at the Etihad, and Guardiola wants to fill it in the best way possible.

Moreover, the economic factor is not a problem. City is willing to pay what Barça asks: more than the 60 million it cost a year ago.

Now everything indicates that Dani Olmo's immediate future will be in the Premier League, not at Camp Nou. A technical decision has changed the course of his career. Flick has bet on Fermín, and that has closed the door to a dreamed return.

Barcelona loses a talent that hasn't fully exploded, and City gains a player Guardiola always wanted.
