Bombshell! Marc Casadó's signing is now official: Joan Laporta is delighted

Marc Casadó takes an important turn in his career and strengthens his commitment to the future at Barça

Barcelona has experienced an unexpected but strategic move: Marc Casadó, a young 21-year-old midfielder, has decided to change agents. His new representative will be none other than Jorge Mendes, the renowned Portuguese agent. This decision has been welcomed enthusiastically by Joan Laporta and the Barça board, who see Casadó as a solid future for the team.

A change that marks the future

Casadó has ended his relationship with the Wasserman agency. From now on, his sporting rights will be managed by Gestifute, Jorge Mendes's company. Although the legal documentation still needs to be signed to make everything official, the move is already considered certain.

This change is no coincidence. During the last summer transfer window, several clubs from England showed interest in him. However, the young Catalan never seriously considered leaving Barça.

His contract runs until 2028 and a €100 million ($108 million) release clause is a strong reason to stay. In addition, he has Hansi Flick's trust as an alternative in midfield, although he is still behind Frenkie de Jong.

Competition doesn't scare Casadó

The 25/26 season looks demanding for Marc. Marc Bernal will return after his injury and Gavi, who is in full recovery, will also look for his place. However, the homegrown player trusts his abilities and aims to repeat the prominence he had last season.

In 24/25, Casadó took over the starting spot after Bernal and Frenkie were sidelined, playing 36 matches, with 1 goal, 6 assists, and 2,447 minutes (2,447 min) on the field. His season ended early due to a partial tear of the external ligament in his right knee. Even so, his performance made it clear that he can be a key player for the Barça project.

With Gestifute behind him, Casadó seeks to eliminate rumors about possible departures in January. His goal is clear: to establish himself at Barça and help the team fight for all possible titles in 2026.

Jorge Mendes, a safety net

Joining Mendes's agency not only guarantees security for Casadó, but also strengthens his relationship with the board. Five first-team players at Barça are represented by Gestifute. Among them are Ansu Fati, Alejandro Balde, Guille Fernández, and the young Lamine Yamal, whose contract renewal until 2031 reflects the good relationship between Mendes and the club.

The Portuguese agent's experience has been key in recent operations, such as Yamal's move to Monaco. With Casadó, the idea is simple: stability for the player and peace of mind for the club.
