Barcelona has experienced an unexpected but strategic move: Marc Casadó, a young 21-year-old midfielder, has decided to change agents. His new representative will be none other than Jorge Mendes, the renowned Portuguese agent. Casadó has ended his relationship with the Wasserman agency. From now on, his sporting rights will be managed by Gestifute, Jorge Mendes's company. Although the legal documentation still needs to be signed to make everything official, the move is already considered certain.
This change is no coincidence. During the last summer transfer window, several clubs from England showed interest in him. However, the young Catalan never seriously considered leaving Barça.
His contract runs until 2028 and a €100 million ($108 million) release clause is a strong reason to stay. In addition, he has Hansi Flick's trust as an alternative in midfield, although he is still behind Frenkie de Jong.
Competition doesn't scare Casadó

In 24/25, Casadó took over the starting spot after Bernal and Frenkie were sidelined, playing 36 matches, with 1 goal, 6 assists, and 2,447 minutes (2,447 min) on the field. His season ended early due to a partial tear of the external ligament in his right knee. Even so, his performance made it clear that he can be a key player for the Barça project.
