After having secured the future of the goal, Barça has focused on signing a top-level winger to strengthen the attack. When it seemed ruled out, the possible addition of Nico Williams has gained momentum again. In the last few hours, an important meeting has taken place in Barcelona between his agent, Félix Tainta, and the culer sporting director, Deco.
Nothing has changed regarding Nico Williams's price. He has a release clause of 58 million euros, which, after adding the CPI, rises to 62 million. If the deal were to move forward again, Barça knows this is what it would have to pay to keep him permanently. Because one thing is clear: Athletic Club doesn't intend to negotiate his departure, much less with the blaugrana side.

Jota Jordi speaks clearly about Nico Williams
A few days ago, Jota Jordi surprised everyone on El Chiringuito, stating that Nico Williams "is the hidden one" for FC Barcelona. Within hours, this has been proven, with his agent trying to reactivate negotiations through a surprise meeting. In fact, it was the Navarrese forward himself who requested this, making it clear that his priority is to play at Camp Nou.
After the unexpected meeting between Tainta and Deco came to light, Jota Jordi wrote a message on his X account, formerly known as Twitter. In true El Chiringuito style, with multiple alarm lights and in all caps with many spaces, the Catalan stated: "Nico wants to come to Barça".
No rush or urgency with Nico Williams
Pedrerol's collaborator didn't stop there, adding hours later to his information: "Caaaaaaaalm. Now Barça has neither rush nor urgency."
This is the reality. Because FC Barcelona knows it holds all the cards. Now it's Nico Williams who wants to wear the blaugrana jersey and is desperate to do so. He's willing to lose money, rejecting higher offers from Arsenal, Bayern, or Chelsea.
Barça is analyzing all its options. Although it knows Nico Williams would fit perfectly, especially with Lamine Yamal, there are still doubts. Laporta still isn't convinced, he doesn't forgive what he considered a betrayal last summer. Despite this, he values very positively the step the striker has taken, as it was something demanded to resume negotiations.

Nico Williams is liked, he fits, but the same problem as always remains. After paying Joan García's clause, now another, much higher one would have to be paid. Barça still has cash flow problems. If Nico Williams wants to truly be a culer, he'll have to prove it by waiting. A quick outcome isn't expected, once again.
