Bombshell! Joan Laporta can't take it anymore and sentences him: 'He won't play for Barça'

The President has grown tired of his attitude and is very clear about the decision to make regarding his signing: he is ruled out

FC Barcelona remains immersed in planning its squad for next season. After having settled the goalkeeper issue, pending departures, the next goal is to strengthen the left wing. Everyone knows that the player chosen by the sporting management is Colombian Luis Díaz, but it seems that his signing has fallen through. Liverpool isn't willing to give in, while the forward won't force his exit.

Given this scenario, Barça has several alternatives on the table to consider. Joan Laporta is actively involved in the search for a new forward and, although his word carries the same weight as the rest, his opinion is highly regarded. This is practically leading to ruling out one of the players who has been most liked in recent years and whom, now, the president doesn't want to see at all: Nico Williams.

"Laporta doesn't want Nico Williams"

Speaking about this matter, Jijantes' Lluís Carrasco, the publicist responsible for running Laporta's last campaign for Barça's presidency, has been clear and forceful. They share a great friendship, and when he talks about the president, it's worth listening to everything he says.

Carrasco began: "The left wing position that Barça wants to strengthen, this is a certainty: the priority was called Luis Díaz. From there, a whole range of possibilities opened up. With Luis, things could get complicated, and among those possibilities are Rashford, Leao, Nico Williams..."

In this regard, he pointed out: "For many, the best option is Nico for many reasons: chemistry, attachment, friendship, he knows the competition and his teammates. He has shown with Spain that the harmony is absolute. I'm very excited that the Díaz deal falls through and that they really go after Nico."

No one expected his final conclusion, stating that "the big problem is that Joan Laporta doesn't want him."

Joan Laporta rules out Nico Williams: the main reason

Although Nico Williams is highly regarded at Barça, Laporta doesn't want to give in. The president believes that, after having rejected the possibility last summer, he doesn't deserve a second chance now. The Catalan ended up very angry a year ago and doesn't want to repeat the situation.

Nico Williams seemed willing to reconsider, since his goal has always been to succeed in Spain. The Barça option has always appealed to him. But the reality is that Joan Laporta, unless he's made to change his mind, is very clear that he can't sign for FC Barcelona.
