Barça Loses against Atlético and Hansi Flick Points to the Culprit: 'He Can't...'

Hansi Flick's team saw Atlético come back in the last minute.

FC Barcelona played the best game of the season, but it wasn't enough to surpass Atlético. On an unfair night at Montjuïc, Hansi Flick's team dominated the match from start to finish... but in two unfortunate actions, they saw how the colchoneros managed to win and take the three points from the capital of Catalonia. Barça was practically perfect, but two mistakes were enough to tip the balance in favor of the rojiblancos.

The truth is that Barcelona had multiple chances to score, although they only managed to do so once, with a great goal by Pedri. They finished the first half ahead on the scoreboard, being tremendously superior... but winning only by the minimum. Atlético took advantage of this in the second half, capitalizing on the only chance they had to surpass Iñaki Peña, who couldn't do much.

On a counterattack preceded by an action where Raphinha and then Lewandowski could have scored... De Paul took advantage of a loose ball at the edge of the area to score a great goal. In injury time, in an unbelievable action, Sorloth managed to score to overturn an unfair result. With the leadership at stake, Barcelona wasn't able to win and even lost against a much inferior Atlético.

This defeat didn't sit well with Hansi Flick, who believes Barça should have won. After the match ended, all eyes were on Lewandowski, who was off his game and didn't take advantage of any of his clear chances. One of them was past the 70th minute, when Ferran Torres gave him a ball that he only had to shoot between the three posts. "He can't fail so much," was heard at Montjuïc.

Barça was good, very good against Atlético. However, the reality is that it didn't serve them much: a totally unfair defeat that leaves Hansi Flick's team in a bad position for the near future. The sensations, in terms of play, are practically unbeatable for the Christmas break... but not at all in terms of points.

After this, some necessary days of rest are in order for Barcelona's players, who have been feeling the fatigue a lot during the last few matches...
