El Chiringuito announces updates on the signing of the Colombian striker by Barcelona

FC Barcelona wants to get the work done soon this summer. Deco doesn't want to keep making the mistakes of the past and, after having closed the matter of the goalkeeping position, now wants to go after its next big target: the forward line. The Portuguese intends to strengthen the wings with a high-profile signing that will make all the headlines, with Luis Díaz being the chosen one. The Colombian from Liverpool is eager to play for Barça and negotiations are going to intensify soon.

El Chiringuito shares the latest on Luis Díaz

José Álvarez, a journalist from El Chiringuito who is very well connected with Barça's sporting management, has spoken. On the latest show, he was clear: "The negotiation for Luis Díaz will heat up in the coming days after the signing of Joan García is made official. At Liverpool, they already know that the Colombian  wants to play for Barça."

In this regard, he continued: "In fact, he has a contract renewal offer on the table that, for now, he still hasn't accepted... He'd only do so if the negotiation doesn't succeed. However, Barça doesn't want to go beyond €60 million: the feeling is positive. If it fails, plan B, the one Hansi Flick likes the most, is Marcus Rashford."

Luis Díaz 'bets' everything on Barça

At 28 years old, the Colombian is certain that he wants to fulfill his dream of playing for FC Barcelona. Years ago, his own father made this public. Now he has the chance, being the priority for the rest of the summer. What Barça is clear about is that it doesn't intend to lose its head over him.

Luis Díaz is the chosen one, but for him to arrive, Liverpool needs to lower its financial expectations. As of today, at Anfield, they're still asking for €80 million ($80 million) for him. Meanwhile, Barça is clear: its offer won't go above €60 million ($60 million).

Luis Díaz's stance seems key to unlocking the operation, as he still hasn't replied to Liverpool's renewal proposal. The Colombian plans to stretch things out, but not to the very end. If this doesn't happen, in Barcelona they're clear that they'll activate the alternative on their list, which is a personal request from Flick: Marcus Rashford.

There will be news soon, at Barça they believe they can end up convincing Liverpool. The Luis Díaz issue can't drag on much longer.
