Artificial intelligence forecasts once again place FC Barcelona as the top favorite to win LaLiga, and it's not just any opinion.
The party responsible is OPTA's supercomputer, which has simulated the competition 10,000 times. It has assigned Barça a 46.5% chance of winning the title, compared to Real Madrid's 32.1%.
From the Barça camp, there's a sense of optimism: the transfer work and the start of the season are consistent with those figures. Meanwhile, Real Madrid sees its chances decrease in the face of the statistical clarity of the data.
This statistical difference between the two Spanish soccer giants is striking and offers a narrative of superiority based on numbers.
The supercomputer leaves no doubt
OPTA's projections aren't arbitrary. Its model is based on historical data, recent performance, betting odds, and rankings. Each result—win, draw, or loss—is estimated and simulated thousands of times to provide an adjusted probability for each team.
The margin given to Barça is a symbol of continuity, tactical solidity, and balance across all its lines. Although Real Madrid still has outstanding numbers, it doesn't reach the blazing consistency of Hansi Flick's team according to artificial intelligence.
What does it mean for Barça and Madrid?
For Barcelona, these statistics provide tangible support for its sports strategy and transfer decisions. It's not the same to compete with a favorable 46% forecast as with a title still up for grabs.
In contrast, for Real Madrid, the message is less encouraging. Although its chances remain notable, real soccer is far from being merely probabilistic.
Beyond the champion: relegations and standings
It's not all about the title. OPTA also estimates which teams will be relegated or will fight for Europe.
According to its AI, Athletic and Villarreal are fighting for the fourth Champions League spot. Barça, Real Madrid, and Atlético are the clear protagonists on the podium.
At the bottom, Levante, Oviedo, and Elche are relegated.
