Tonight Vinícius is going to receive the Ballon d'Or. One more for Real Madrid, who will still have less than Barça.
The media close to Real Madrid insist that Barça and Real Madrid have won the same number of Ballon d'Ors (12). The truth is, however, that this is not exactly the case.
Both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have seen their players lift the trophy 12 times wearing their jerseys.
But in both cases there cases of Ballon d'Ors that are shared. Johan Cruyff, Luis Figo, Ronaldo Nazario and Fabio Cannavaro won the award wearing two jerseys.
In the case of Barça, Johan Cruyff received the award in 1973, having played half a season at Ajax and the other half at Barça. The same theme was repeated with Ronaldo Nazario, who won it in 1997 after an exceptional season with Barça, sharing it with Inter.
The same thing happened with Luis Figo, who played half a season with Barça in 2000 and the other half with Real Madrid.
This situation has occurred more times at Real Madrid: in the case of Figo in 2000, Ronaldo Nazario (Inter-Real Madrid) and in 2006 Fabio Cannavaro (Juventus and Real Madrid). That is to say, Real Madrid has 9 Ballon d'Ors at 100%, and another 3 Ballon d'Ors at 50%. Total: 11.5.
Barça has won 11 Ballon d'Ors at 100% and three more at 50%. Total: 12 Ballon d'Ors. And Leo Messi is the undisputed king of the award, having won it six times with the Barça jersey.
The rest is just artificial decorations.
