Hansi Flick's Blacklist: Three to Spare, One of Which Will be Controversial

Flick shows his cards and begins to indicate the list of players who will leave the club

Barça was powerless to score a goal against Leganés at home. Meanwhile, three key players watched from the bench.

It's surprising that Flick didn't turn to Frenkie De Jong, the highest-paid player on the team. It also is that he didn't call Ronald Araújo, once he had recovered from his injury.

It's even more surprising that Gavi didn't enter the field until the 74th minute. He was Barça's fourth substitution. He came on with Cubarsí after Fermín and Ferran Torres had already been substituted.

Hansi Flick's Blacklist

They are the three players Flick doesn't count on, joining Ansu Fati and Eric García, who will be sold in the upcoming winter market.

Frenkie De Jong's situation is no longer news, even though Flick speaks well of him to the media.

Araújo hasn't played a minute in the last two games despite having medical clearance. It confirms that Flick doesn't count on him.

Cubarsí and Íñigo Martínez have taken his spot. And as an alternative, Flick counts on Christensen, once he fully recovers from his injury, and Koundé, whom he would move from the flank.

Barça will try to make a transfer with both players to bring in more than 40 million each. Gavi's situation, however is more surprising. Flick doesn't count on him.

Before the injury, Gavi was an undisputed regular in Barça's line-ups. It's been almost two months since he received medical clearance and he only plays sporadically.

Fermín Surpasses Gavi in Rotations

He's even been surpassed by Fermín in the rotations. Flick believes they are two similar players and has chosen Fermín.

The situation doesn't please Gavi at all, who's reached an agreement with the club to extend his contract. Still, Flick considers him expendable and isn't convinced by his playing.

He hasn't played a full match yet and his appearances are limited to the final minutes. His contribution yesterday against Leganés was irrelevant.

Flick shows his hand, and Gavi isn't among his aces. For the midfield, he already has Casadó, Pedri, Marc Bernal, and Dani Olmo.

He considers that, between Fermín and Gavi, one is redundant because their characteristics are similar. He has already made his choice.
